tada!! tuesday

Posted by nonnasnonsense on January 6, 2009

ok, so after TWO HOURS last night i got one section of my living room clean. it was the most cluttered, so hopefully tonight, i will be able to get the rest of the living room clean. i thought about doing a before and an after shot, but honestly, i was too embarassed to show how bad it was before. i might do a before and after tonight. maybe.

(notice the spare monitor. it’s broke. it turns on, but just shows a white screen. does ANYbody actually repair things like that these days?? let me know, cuz i sure can’t afford a new one. i’m using lil sis’ monitor right now, and i’m sure she would like hers back)

hey, i even managed to get my lazy butt outta the house last night and went grocery shopping! i have decided i like grocery shopping at 12:30am on a rainy night. there was NOBODY at wal-mart except for the stockers and floor cleaners. i was even able to leave my shopping cart with all of my purchases sitting at the checkout while i ran to get something i forgot (facial scrub) and nobody stole anything! i also liked the whole no traffic thing too.

my hubby did wake up in the middle of my putting the groceries away and asked me if i was on speed LOL. i told him i was sorry for waking him, but he informed me that i didn’t, he had acid-reflux again. i wish i could get him to go to the dr. he eats tums like they are candy, takes over the counter anti-acid/antacids (i’ve seen it both ways, but the 2nd way looks Wrong, lol) pills, and still ends up having to drink baking soda and water most nights. he won’t take tagamet or the other stronger meds cuz he says they give him leg cramps. i’m sure his esophagus is gonna turn into swiss cheese.

all in all i think my experiment worked last night. i got stuff accomplished and now i don’t have to feel guilty for not doing anything all day long except sleeping and recovering from sleeping. hopefully, i will be able to keep this up and do a little bit of cleaning every night. they say once you do something for more than 6 weeks it becomes a habit. we’ll see if they are right or not. (whoever “they” are)

@ everybody (cause i’m lazy and it’s my blog and i can) – thanks! i am definitely gonna give yall a before and after so you can appreciate all my hard work. who cares if everybody gets actualy proof of my laziness. it’s not like i don’t admit it anyways. i will move the toys under the desk just for you sis ๐Ÿ™‚

and i will not be helping anybody else with their housework UNLESS you live where there is snow and will buy me a 1st class round trip ticket to your house. i figure that’s the only way i will get to play in the snow and fly 1st class too! lol

You gotta do it when the urge takes you! Look at how great you feel!
PS: B was on prescriptions for years, but now is taking Pepcid 2x’s a day – he said it wouldn’t work – it isn’t perfect, but now he is a believer (even bought them himself)

I love this blog. You write so humourously. Ask Phil to see if he can help with the monitor. I am back to the living. I think people might understand Tom’s shirt if they know that I am mental and suffer from depression with physcosis. Which means I see and hear things

I don’t think my desk has ever looked that good – other than the day we bought it.

Reflux – yuch – had it for years – no fun.

nice job nonna! i think the cleaning bug is wearing off on everyone…my whole “main” house is almost clean! o’ the dreaded basement is next….i have been putting this off for YEARS…what a mess! off to laundry, have fun or good luck with the chores! ๐Ÿ™‚

@ seashore – maybe we should have your hubby talk to my hubby.

@momma – i’m glad you’re feeling better. i was gonna call you last night but didn’t want to wake you if you were actually able to sleep. i think you just told everybody about your condition(s) ๐Ÿ™‚ and thank you, i try to be humorous and it’s nice to know it’s working. at least sometimes ๐Ÿ™‚

@ de-I – “had it for years” so what did you do to get rid of it? i’m sure my desk will be buried again soon, but i hope not.

@nLsM – thanks for reminding me about laundry. ugh, that’s piling up too ๐Ÿ™‚

There has to be a “freecycle” group near you and would have someone giving away some of those big old thick monitors for nothing. Free is free.

It would probably cost more to fix it than to by a new one…

@ MTAE – my first thought was, yeah right, not in my little hometown. but i googled it and the next county over actually has a freecycle community! thanks so much for the info ๐Ÿ™‚

I like shopping later in the day too! My home office is a mess – I once lost the cat in there!
By the way, has your hubby tried pepto bismol? I have found that has worked the best for me for the reflux.

  14. nonna said

@ shellmo – that’s hilarious about the cat and i will def try the pepto. i can’t believe it could be that easy! thanks for stopping by and the advice.

lady – I got a bone to pick with you….you didn’t tell me bry had a blog! I just found out last night!

  16. Heinous said

aww…we would have never made fun of your before shot. Really.

I love when you can get in and out of a store easily. It makes off hour shopping worth it.

  17. BryanO said

yeah yeah yeah. They work ok, not as great as the prescription but tolerable.

@ seashore – hey! he’s YOUR hubby. i think you have a bone to pick with him! i could’ve swore i said something to you on the phone the other day about giving him a hard time about not following my blog. i must say though, i though it was weird y’all weren’t following each other, but i just figured y’all were having a tiff. ๐Ÿ™‚

@ heinous – well, i am gonna put you to the test mr. cause as soon as i get done here, i’m gonna post my before and after of the rest of the living room.

@ bry – ahh so you just haven’t been telling her about your continued reflux OR your BLOG huh? why you gettin’ me in trouble?? ๐Ÿ™‚

I need to get in some kind of habit too. I hate this time of year. I don’t feel like doing anything (unless someone’s coming over and then I go like gangbusters in an effort to prove that we don’t live like slobs 75% of the week.)

  20. nonna said

@ terri – ha that’s funny. that’s what i usually do too! my hubby doesn’t really like having company, but he does like that i actually clean the house for them ๐Ÿ™‚
